Regional
Rooted in the Region
Our community involvement focuses on education, safety, culture, and sports. Over the past five years, we have supported an average of more than 30 clubs, organizations, and projects per year—ranging from preschools and schools to social initiatives, cultural events, and sporting events.
Our commitment is long-term and focuses on the region where our employees and their families live.
Community Involvement
On the Local Level. For Torgau.
Our community involvement focuses on the region and local stakeholders. Suggestions for donations typically come from our employees, who want to support clubs and organizations in which they are personally involved or that are attended by their family members.
We support associations, organizations, or projects—such as kindergartens, schools, or clubs—that focus on social, safety-related, or cultural issues.
These include, among other things, cultural and sporting events such as city festivals, the Torgau City Night Run, regional soccer tournaments, and other projects organized by the City of Torgau and its partners.
We strive to involve local businesses and service providers in our initiatives. In this way, we support projects and activities in the region and strengthen the local community’s involvement.
Responsibility
Partner of the Volunteer Fire Department
A key focus of our social involvement is our collaboration with the Torgau Volunteer Fire Department and other fire departments in the region.
We have been a supporting member of the Torgau Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Our commitment goes far beyond simply paying membership dues: Because the protection of people, animals, and nature is important to us, we donate funds for equipment, for example, and invite the Torgau firefighters to conduct drills on our property. There, hazardous situations are simulated and emergency response is practiced.
One example of this is the recurring chainsaw training held on our factory grounds. For the more complex basic training, a tree-bending simulator is used to replicate the stresses found in round timber. Under these conditions, the procedures for working safely are explained and practiced. We provided the materials for this training free of charge.
In other exercises, the evacuation of injured persons from confined spaces is practiced, or the “building shoring” training exercise is conducted on our premises.
In addition to the Torgau Volunteer Fire Department, we also support fire departments beyond the city limits. In this way, we contribute to supporting volunteer efforts in the region.
