Experience

Over 15 years of expertise

Our sister company Mercer Holz is the wood purchasing organisation for all of Mercer International’s German production sites.

The company can look back on more than 15 years of experience in purchasing and supplying pulp and sawmills with large quantities of industrial wood and wood chips.

Mercer Holz procures raw materials for a wide variety of uses.

Due to the wide range of processing options, a variety of types of wood are required.

Partnership

On an equal footing

Mercer Holz attaches great importance to a partnership-based relationship with forest owners, forestry associations and traders in Germany and Europe. They can all benefit from the diversity of Mercer Holz’s timber ranges. Our sister company buys coniferous industrial timber and round sawn timber and markets hardwood to partners in the wood processing industry in Europe.

Diverse

Flexible in terms of quality and measurement

Mercer Holz buys wood and bundles it according to tree species and quality. In consultation with forest owners and forestry associations, various stages of the value chain and measurement methods are possible – from the sale of stock/self-harvesting to delivery ex forest road or delivery free loaded on the train. The timber is measured on the forest road or in the factory. Alternatively, average or range prices are also offered.

Reforestation

For the future of the forest

Since the spring of 2023, Mercer Holz has been committed to reforestation with its own project. By October 2024, over 133,775 conifers and more than 37,000 deciduous trees had been planted as part of this campaign. In the coming years, Mercer Holz will continue to support forest owners in the reforestation of forests and provide them with a careful selection of seedlings.
